These "coupons" are all hand painted and can be found all over Lockport! On trails, in stores, on benches, in gardens, in parks...you get the idea. When you purchase a ticket for our tours, you bring the rock with you to receive the discount shown on the back of the rock! We will give you the rock back so you can use it again, give it to a friend or hide it and be a new persons secret gifter! Have fun on our new scavenger hunt for our tour coupons! These are historically based and narrated guided tours, that make stops along the way at historic sites and iconic landmarks.
Lockport is THE destination that provides the Premier Erie Canal Experience of the entire NYS Canalway Corridor!
From May when the Canal opens through October when it closes, you can see boats locking through Locks 34 & 35 daily. Locks 34 and 35 are "combination locks", where the upper door of Lock 34 is also the lower door of Lock 35.
The entire set of all 5 locks of Lockport's "Flight of Five" Locks are in the process of being brought back to life.
World famous when they opened in 1825 as the only duplicated flight, we look forward to completing our goal of having our 1842 ca. locks working & complete. Locks 69 & 70 now working, will soon have Lock 68 join them Fall 2018
Locks District Museum will be re-opening for the 2018 Season with State of the Art Presentations.
Built in 1915 as a power house to energize the locks operations, our new museum will be a curated creation housing artifacts and brand new historical displays of the Erie Canal's 3 Eras.

All our guests on our Lock Tenders Tribute Walking Tour, have an opportunity to work with our Flight of Five Lock Tenders, to work the 1842 restored Lock Gates. How heavy do you guess these gates are? Come push them open with us as a finale to our tour!!!
100% of the proceeds from our admission sales, go directly back to LHDC and are dedicated to the initiative to preserve the Historical Heritage of our city’s Canal District and restore our entire set of the 1842 Flight of Five locks to working condition.. All of our guests become a little bit of history and help preserve it for future generations. We thank you!
